COURSE OBJECTIVESThis course is designed to expose participants to easy-to-follow maintenance and repair procedures and a wide assortment of inexpensive upgrade strategies. More specifically, the course will enable the participants to:
- Understand computer components and over-all behavior of a computer System from engineering stand point.
- Prevent common hardware failures with routine maintenance
- Acquire basic skills that introduces participants to the procedure for Handling basic faults in computer systems.
- Safely disassemble and reassemble a complete PC system
- Install and configure the motherboard and adapter cards
- Fix PC hardware and software problems: UPS, Monitor, Scanner etc
- Install and configure hard disks and CD-ROMs
- Use power-on self-test (POST) and advances diagnostics
- Configure and troubleshoot IRQs, I/O and memory addresses on adapter cards
- Expand and manage PC memory.
- Safely disassemble and reassemble a complete PRINTER
- Diagnose and solve printer problems
- Setting communication parameters
- Diagnosing serial port, parallel port and usb problems.
- PRINTER CLEANING AND MAINTENANCE
- Cleaning the Exterior Case, Interior, Paper Feed Rollers, Copier Glass, Ink Cartridges- Replacement of fusing assembly; feed and separation rollers; transfer roller assembly; etc.
